Museum Pass Program
Passes are checked out like a book, and there is no charge for checking out the museum passes. Passes are available for checkout by all library patrons.
For more information about the Museum Pass program, or the Craftsbury Library contact 586-9683 or craftsburylibrary@gmail.com.
The Craftsbury Public Library recently received a gift that has allowed the library to greatly expand the Museum Pass program at the library. The library now offers passes to 5 Vermont Museums- the Fairbanks Museum, the Vermont History Museum, the Shelburne Museum (open May-October), the Fleming Museum, and the Echo Leahy Center.
- Fairbanks Museum—With a museum pass, patrons can explore the Fairbanks Museum’s new Omni Globe, or the famous 19th century bug art. The pass allows free family admittance to the museum’s exhibits; the planetarium show still carries a fee.
- Vermont History Museum—The Vermont History Museum pass offers free family admission to the downtown Montpelier museum. Visitors can explore Vermont through the ages, from an Abenaki wigwam to Civil War artifacts to a working telegraph machine.
- Shelburne Museum—Although the Shelburne Museum is not open on a daily basis through the winter, patrons can use the pass to attend the occasional events and lectures held at the museum. Once the museum opens in May, the pass can be used to provide free admittance to one family.
- Fleming Museum— The Fleming Museum at UVM offers a limited number of passes for one time use; pick up a pass for each family member and enjoy artifacts from the Tang dynasty, an Egyptian mummy, and sculptures, pottery, and textiles from around the world.
- Echo Leahy Center—With the Echo pass, up to 2 adults and 3 children receive reduced admission of $4 each to the Echo Leahy Center, where visitors explore exhibits on frogs, indigenous peoples, sea monsters, and more.
