Summer Events for Middle School Age Students

Two great activities just for you at
the library this summer…….

§ A writing group will be starting mid-June with Julia Shipley, Sterling College faculty will lead the group. More details to come in the next few weeks.
§ Group Book Read and Discussion featuring the award winning book, Seven Wonders of Sassafras Springs, by Betty Birney. Books are available at the library. The discussion will be on July 23rd @ 6:30pm w/ guest leader, Jen Linck.

Library Nationally Recognized
America's Star Libraries

The Craftsbury Public Library is a one of 256 libraries in the country to be given the rank of America's Star Libraries. The February 15, 2009 issue of Library Journal features an article on the new Index of Public Library Service.
"The LJ Index rates U.S. public libraries with total expenditures of $10,000 or more that serve populations of at least 1000. Ratings are based on four per-capita service indicators:
· library visits
· circulation
· program attendance
· public Internet computer uses

Borrow a Book. Borrow the Pass.
The Echo Center in Burlington

Ask your librarian to borrow the Library ECHO Pass, and up to two adults and three youths will be admitted to ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center at the Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, for just two dollars each.
(Program ends October 31, 2009.)

Now you can also borrow a pass to visit a State Park The pass admits one vehicle holding up to eight people to a Vermont State Park for one day. Also available are a Vermont with with State Park Locations and A Vermont State Parks Brochure
