Youth Programs

After School Study Program

During the school year the library sponsors an After School study program on Tuesdays and Fridays with staff on hand to help students write reports and do research. Children are welcome to come to use the library’s resources to study and do homework, to read, or to visit with friends in a safe, warm place.

Lego Club

Fridays from 3:00-4:30 the library’s Lego Club meets in the children’s room. Children build with legos, and can keep their creations on the library’s display shelf until the following week.

Story Hour

Children’s librarian Jen McKenzie leads children and families in early literacy activities including reading books, singing, acting, felt board stories and art activities. Storyhour is every Tuesday at 10AM through the summer.

• Monthly story time outreach to area preschools and daycares
• Weekly REACH Afterschool visits
• Book recommendations for children and families
• Special programming during school vacations
• Summer reading program for children ages 2-14
• Many new non-fiction books for pre-schoolers through middle school
