A pair of glamorous queens will return to the Craftsbury Public Library on Sunday, November 9 at 2:00 pm to share family-friendly stories of acceptance and individuality, creativity and expression. The queens are Vermont drag performers Emoji Nightmare and Katniss Everqueer, who created Drag Story Hour Vermont so that, as Emoji writes, kids could “see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real." They will present stories appropriate for preschoolers (ages 0-6), but everyone is welcome to attend, and Emoji reminds everyone that "in times like these, showing up and supporting queer folks is a great form of resistance." This Drag Story Hour event in Craftsbury is funded by local donors Jay, John, and Victor in support of inclusive efforts on behalf of all underrepresented people, where empathy and understanding can enrich all of us.
